Friendships Have Ups and Downs, Good Times and Hard Times

Good Evening Everyone!! I hope you were able to enjoy your day. I did enjoy mine; the sunshine, just the warmth of it all. The gentle breeze, the coolness of the air. Watching the birds and animals playing around outside in the beautiful day.

I want to tell you just how important friendship is and how you build and keep your friendship when trials come. I say this because I just went through a very trying time with a friend. I say this because friends are very important in our lives; how we continue our friendships really matter. I got to thinking about this being Friendship Sunday and with the events of this week I have to say that I am thankful, grateful that I still have my friend even with the hard time that we just went through.

I would like to open this with many of our issues were misunderstandings. Sometimes when we would disagree on things much hurt went between us. This was difficult to recover from sometimes. Now things have changed between us, we have agreed how we would communicate with one another.   Today we had a conversation that was going well then something was said that my first reaction was to get angry and let my friend know I was very hurt by what was said. I didn’t do that though. I paused, took a step back and answered my friend, but I did let her know that I was hurt by what she said. I was hurt by what it implied of me. She also paused before answering me; she said she was asking a question, nothing else and also said she was sorry I felt hurt. I told her I was hurt by the way it came across or was assumed. I took a moment to stop, wait do not react to what she’s saying. I had to tell myself not to jump in, but to wait, let her talk more. I did just that and even though she asked me to forgive her I said no need to forgive. I felt this was a matter of misunderstanding and rather than she and I to argue through the conversation we talked through the conversation. Now, we have agreed this approach to when things hurt us, we misunderstand or it makes us want to “attack” with words we now pause, wait until what is said is said then read it. Again pause before responding back right away this way there is less arguments and hurt feelings. This approach is different for her and I,  but this is going to the best way. I can say that it will make our friendship stronger for that. I give her Biggest Hugs for standing by me in our friendship to take us on a closer journey as friends.

I hope that this has and will help many of you that may have a friendship that has bumps in the road. Please take the time to really appreciate and talk with your friend when you hit one of these bumps. Do not let a bump cause a roadblock or a destruction in your friendship. Stay close to the Lord, dig in His Word. Look to Him when you have a bump in your friendship and your life He will get you through even when you feel all alone. I can tell you there have been times I have felt alone; not until later did I realize that He was carrying me when I was at my weakest.

I will close this with next Sunday, October 15th is Friendship Sunday be sure to invite your friends to church with you. You will have something else to talk about. A new subject, how great is that?

Have a great day Moms!!

Feeling Discouraged, Overwhelmed, Defeated-Go to the throne! Pray!

Good morning, Moms!!! Hope you're having a wonderful day. The craziness of the morning rush is over now that the kids are off to school. I know my morning routine can be crazy, exciting, frustrating all depending on how our son responds to his day. I am always busy trying to get to the source of his frustration, his craziness when he cannot find what he needs or if he feels rushed. I tell him take a step back, breathe, pray. Ask God to direct you to what you need, ask Him to calm your spirit. After he's calmed and more like himself  I send him off for his day. He's a great son.

I chose the picture for today speaking on feeling defeated, feeling down, feeling pressed against the wall because of circumstances in your life for a reason. I had an injury that occurred in April and lasted an extended amount of time. I am still dealing with some of the extenuating things from that injury. I at first felt so defeated, alone, questioned why is this still continuing? I stopped, paused then got myself around some great Godly friends and asked them to pray along with me. They still don't know all that is going on, but that didn't matter to them. What mattered was that I came to them asking them to pray with me when I was feeling discouraged by the circumstances. We prayed and added the Word, and are continuing to pray for what God can do! Amen! We know what He has done for all of us, but I will continue to be thankful and rejoice in what He can do! I know my battles are far from over, but God is with me! I know He is with me through this now and going forward.

So when you're feeling crushed, defeated, burdened, down--look up! Pray to the Lord. Let Him take it, let Him help you through-lay it down at the cross. Ask Him to help you, to comfort you, to refresh you. He will do it for you, trust Him. As much as I have been in His Word, singing praise music, shedding tears; I know He has this -- I will get through! Now I leave you with this other picture; this one I designed from using the pine near our home. I also want to leave you with a few verses to think about.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
  (Psalm 62:6 NLT)

God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1 NLT)

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O  Lord , do not abandon those who search for you. (Psalm 9:9 - 9:10 NLT)

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:17 - 4:18 NKJV)

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (Ephesians 6:10 NLT)

I pray that this helps you in your time of need. If you need or want to contact me please leave a comment and I will respond when I can.

Have a great day Moms!!

Rocking Good Fun with a Great Godly Mom, Friend, Co-Conspirator, Sister and the list continues

Hi, Everyone! Hope you're having a great day. I had an early start to my day. The alarm went off promptly at 5:30 am. I got up got myself ready as usual. I then made a light breakfast. I then got into my area that I love in my living room and spent some time with the Lord there. I got into the Word, then started thinking of songs to have ready for "Rockin' it Out Time" with my great friend Bev. She's a Godly Mom, Sister in the Lord, Co-Conspirator, now that last one that's a good one. She is because we are usually teaming up on our men. We love them, but when they need to straighten up we are on it. We have fun at it and they don't see it coming. We also will plan meals and other fun things right in front of them at times and they miss it. I love Bev because she will talk to me about things, she will get with me on the scriptures. While at times I may shed a tear, she may push me, I most likely won't like it, but I know it's for the best. I love when she brings things to me that I need to hear, need to read, or even just a hug she brings to me and that's all I need.

You ask about this Rockin' it Out Time. Well, here's the low down on that. This is how we got it started. I had gone to physical therapy for my back. The doctor prescribed aquatic therapy due to my bone disease, Osteogenesis. He didn't feel that regular therapy would be the best option as weight bearing could cause more injury because of the fragility of my bones.  They're compromised because of the bone disease. I was injured during aquatic therapy which landed me three days to the hospital of which by the time I was released I could not walk. I then spent the next three months learning to walk and care for myself again. Bev was one of the loving ladies that came over to help me through this injury. She would talk to me about the sermon our Pastor was bringing to us each Sunday. She would talk to me about a devotion she read, but one of the important times was when she brought me a book Red Sea Rules. This was a very good book and it helped me so much during the healing through my injury. If you'd like to get a copy of Red Sea Rules just click the link.  There were so many lessons learned during this time and with reading this book. We also would spend time watching DVD's of The Gaither's and many others that she'd bring over. We would crank the volume on the television to sing out the hymns and other music choices we would play. Now that I am doing better Bev isn't here every week like she was early on in the recovery of my injury. Now we look at our calendars and plan a day that we can rock out to music and learn some stories behind the most cherished hymns that we grew up on and grew to love. Today was one of our "Rockin' Out Days"; I love the time with her. I know these are memories that I will carry with me forever.

I must get going now is time to make preparations for supper.

Have a great day Moms!!

Getting Real

Hi, Moms! I just want to take this moment to introduce you to a very special and dear friend of mine.  This is Kathleen Spencer everyone. She has been a large influence in my life. I met her when I was a young girl growing up. She was friends with my parents first and she would nurture my brother and me along with her husband with our walks with the Lord. I appreciate and thank you very much for that Kathleen. I love you, my friend. We have some things that we wanted to bring to you, to think about.  May you be blessed with our words.

I have been thinking about the time we have on this earth. Is our time short, is our time long, do we really know how much time we have?? No, we don't the only one that does know the time we have is our Heavenly Father. This thought of time took me back to the time when my Father, Tom Eggert passed away. I loved him deeply. I am glad that he knew the Lord in a personal way.  We are saved by grace through faith as spoken in Ephesians 2:8-10. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." I encourage you to listen to this sermon from my brother, Pastor Brian Eggert. He's Pastor of Old Town Christian Fellowship Church in Maine. Click here for the sermon -->How much time do we have?  Here is a second one talking more about our time we have left and how important it is for us to have relationship with Jesus How much time do we have? 2

Here are words from Kathleen's heart:
Sharing a concern I have. Seems there are those who talk about God all the time and all the favor they want from Him and yet they don’t walk in obedience to His word.

If a person is still living a life of willful sin the scripture is very clear that they are not saved and not to expect anything from God except his righteous judgment.

If a person is truly sorry for their sin and asked God with a truly contrite heart to forgive them, but has something or more than one thing that they still are struggling with they need to find an accountability partner to pray with them and for them and seek God for the renewing of their mind through reading His word continuously. If you don’t seek Him with all your heart I promise you, you will not be set free.

A person who claims to be a Christ Follower and is still walking in disobedience is not following Christ but his greatest enemy and yours, the Devil himself.

I hear the excuse all the time... “No one is perfect”... That is true, but God is, and he commanded that we be holy just as He is holy. If that were not possible he wouldn’t have said it. He looks at a heart that wants Him more than anything else in this life.

I am not writing this in condemnation. I was raised in a strong Christian home and for many years I was a very, very weak follower of Jesus Christ but in my heart I loved Him. The war that Paul talks about in Romans was waging in me, but thanks be to God I discovered the next verse that through Christ we can be overcomers.  It went from desiring what I wanted to desiring what God wanted. I also am very aware that temptation is always out there and I may need to run to someone for help again one day.
I am a non-judgmental listener who knows what it’s like to struggle so if you need an ear you’ve got one.

It’s not about me anyway.. if I could get away with some sins, of course like anyone else I’d jump on that train quickly. But it’s about what wanting the very, very best God has for you and for me and not wanting you to miss the mark. Our eternal souls are at stake and we have a powerful enemy who wants us to spend eternity without God. But we have a much more powerful Lord and Savior who wants us to spend eternity with Him and wants to empower us to live a life holy and acceptable to Him so we can experience the greatest joys and abundance of blessings from Him and empower us to spread that message to others.

Galatians 5:19 “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures.” New Living Translation

Galatians 5:19 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness” KJV

I Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor those who participate in homosexuality.”

Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

We were made for more than running after the things of this world. We were made for greatness as sons and daughters of the King.

I will not reject you even if you toss this message aside. I will continue to love you and pray for you.

Blessings!!!
Kathleen

Kathleen, thank you so much for allowing me to post this to my site.  I pray that we will reach many hearts for our Lord. Feel free to leave us some love at the end of this post. Any questions that you may have Kathleen and I would be glad to write with you.

Have a great day Moms!!

The Battles in Our Lives

Good Evening, Moms!!! I pray that you're doing well. I am sure you're days are eventful; praying you are able to get some Mom time. I know when I do I cherish every second.

When we are in a battle we sometimes can be confused, unsure, unable to discern and the list could go on. I will end it there though. I know when I am under attack I try not to be anxious, this is something that I am working on. I know that it will take time, but God is walking by my side through the battles. He's the calm in my storm. The verse that comes to mind for me referring back to being anxious is found in 1 Peter 5: 7 "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you." I look at that verse "give all your worries" -- give all your anxieties to God, to God why? Why, because He cares about you!!! Don't let the anxiety take you over. Don't let it get you to say, "I can't do this, I am not strong enough..." You are strong enough, You have God by your side. He will walk this with you.

We as Moms go to battle for our children. When someone offends them or harms them in any way we are on the battlefield to protect our children. When someone offends or harms a family member same thing we are out there on the battlefield fighting for our family member to protect them.  We just want what is best. To be the best at fighting on that battlefield we need to be in our prayer closets, becoming, being the best prayer warrior God has. We also need to be out there on the battlefield being trained by God to fight against the attacks of the enemy. Are you ready to join God's Army, to be His Prayer Warrior??

Have a great day Moms!!

Friendships such Blessings!!

Good Morning!! Hope you're having a good start to your morning. We had our morning dance, I love these times even though one day to the next the pain level may be different. It's the short times of chatting with one another that I love. Sometimes it can be quite interesting as my husband isn't quite awake when we are doing our morning dance. He will say something that makes me laugh. He's my best friend. We are high school sweethearts. I love the little moments that we get to spend together. The times we get to talk over a cup of coffee even though I am not to have it. I will make an exception for him and special friends.

Speaking of special friends. I got to spend time with one of them yesterday. We went out just to go look for some twist up colored pencils so I could do highlighting in my Bible. The current highlighter I had would soak through to the other side of the page so when I'd turn the page in my Bible it didn't always make sense of what was highlighted. I didn't want to continue through my Bible like that. We found the twist up colored pencils at our local Walmart. These are the colored pencils. I am really liking them. I like that you can twist the point back inside to protect it from being broken off. You can click the picture it is linked to Walmart if you should decide to purchase them.

I want to continue with the time with my special friend. She's great, I enjoy our friendship. I have to say we've had some ups and downs. Not in ending the friendship, just in getting to know one another. We'd "bump heads" if you will with where we may or may not agree on things. One may say that that's not the way it is while the other would say, but you don't see where I am coming from or how I am taking this. I can say yes it may have caused struggles, but in the end, it has made the friendship stronger. My friend knows things that touch my heart and she's sensitive to not make me speak of those things. I have to say I scared my friend yesterday - she's a tough one to scare as I learned, but I got her!!It was fun, but by total surprise. I didn't think I was going to scare her, but I did, hehe!

The friendships that we develop, have for short times, long times we really need to cherish them because we never know when we may lose that friend to an illness, cancer, or some other reason. God placed these friends in our lives for a reason. Each friend of ours is a gem, cherish them, enjoy the time you have with them each time you're together. Send your friends a message to let them know that you're thinking of them. Call your friends sometimes they cannot write in a message what is in their heart because they can't put it to words, but they can talk it out. Sometimes what's in their hearts is something very painful be patient with them. Take the time to be genuine in listening to them hear their heart. Be the comforter that they need, if they're there with you be the one to hold their hand, hug them, rub their shoulder to let them know you are there for them. You are coming alongside them to help them through the difficult time that they're going through.

Take some time to spend with your friends, your special friends, your best friends, your childhood friends...enjoy your day's everyone!!!

Have a great day Moms!!
